Event: Evidence Retention and Post-Conviction Disclosure

Presentation by Louise Shorter, Founder and Investigator at Inside Justice

Title: Evidence Retention and Post-Conviction Disclosure

Date: Thursday 6th May, 6pm (BST)

Organised by the University of Cardiff's Miscarriage of Justice Awareness Society along with the University of Manchester

Abstract:

Imagine spending years in prison for a murder you did not commit. Finally, someone has taken on your case and is about to reinvestigate the forensic evidence collected at the scene, but there’s a problem; the police have either lost or destroyed it all.

This is exactly the situation Inside Justice and their client found themselves in. Louise Shorter will discuss this case in detail, how police failed to adhere to guidance and the awareness raising efforts being carried out today by Inside Justice.

Louise will also highlight another case: Kevin Nunn, and the work being done on post-conviction disclosure.
