Celebrating National Trustee Week: Spotlight on Dr. Ann Priston OBE

At Inside Justice, we are proud to celebrate National Trustee Week by highlighting the invaluable contributions of Dr. Ann Priston OBE, our Deputy Chair of Trustees and a dedicated member of our Advisory Panel. With a remarkable career in biochemistry and forensic science, Dr. Priston has significantly advanced the field and inspired many through her work.

After earning her joint honours degree in Biochemistry and Physiology and a doctorate in biochemistry, Dr. Priston began her career on the Nobel Prize-winning team at King's College London. She later joined the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratory, where she specialised in textile fibre examination and earned 14 commendations for her work, including a rare Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Commendation for her contributions to terrorism investigations.

A passionate educator, she continues to train and mentor colleagues as a visiting lecturer at King’s College, London. In addition to her leadership roles within the Forensic Science Society, Dr. Priston has made significant contributions as an Honorary Life Fellow of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences (BAFS), where her expertise and dedication have furthered the society’s mission to promote excellence in forensic science.

Dr. Priston remains committed to addressing systemic challenges in the justice system, particularly with the Criminal Cases Review Commission. Through her dedication and expertise, she embodies our mission to uncover the truth and champion justice. We are honoured to have her on our team as we continue to advocate for those affected by wrongful convictions.
