“Actor Tom Conti joins the debate over the murder conviction of Kevin Nunn”

Bury Free Press.

Tom Conti, who has played a man accused of murder on stage in Rough Justice, has spoken out in support of Kevin Nunn’s campaign, as reported in the local press.

The campaign is striving to persuade Suffolk Police, the original investigating force, to allow access to exhibits for re-testing with new forensic techniques. Kevin Nunn has no history of violence.

“Psychologically it doesn’t fit any profiles at all and that’s why it’s so important these exhibits are handed over,” Tom Conti told Sky News. “And so I plead with Suffolk Constabulary to do the decent and humane thing and let’s find out absolutely certainly.”

Last June, the Supreme Court rejected a challenge to Suffolk Police’s refusal to disclose evidence.
